The Puppet Patch

Joseph
"I'm Larry LivingGood. We're here today in the deserts of Egypt. Today we're here to look into reports we have received a most interesting man. His name is Joseph. He is the second in command of all of Egypt. Only the Pharaoh is more powerful than Joseph. Right now there is a famine in the world. No one has been able to grow any food for months and people everywhere are going hungry. Everywhere, that is, except Egypt. A few years ago the Pharaoh had some strange dreams that seven fat cows ate seven skinny cows. I know this sounds funny, but its true. He asked if anyone in all of Egypt could tell him what his dream meant. No one could.
It was about that time the butler remembered a man who had told him what one of his dreams had meant. The butler had been thrown in jail and had a weird dream that Joseph told him meant he would soon be working for the Pharaoh again. It happened just like Joseph said. When Pharaoh had his dreams the butler told him about Joseph. Pharaoh brought Joseph to him and told him the dream.
Joseph told the Pharaoh that his dreams meant that Egypt would be able to grow lots of extra food for seven years. After that things got ugly. Famine would come for seven years after the good years. And here we are.
Our investigations have discovered that this has all been predicted. Joseph has also had some dreams when he was younger. They had predicted that he would become a very powerful person and that even his family would bow before him. That happened not long ago when his brothers came to ask for food since they were starving. Well, Joseph seems a little busy to grant us an interview right now. He's meeting his father for the first time in many years. You can read all about Joseph and his family in Genesis chapters 37 to 46. It just goes to show that no matter how long it takes, God will do what he said he would.
Well, this has been Larry LivingGood reporting from Egypt. We now return you to your regularly scheduled math test."
