Goliath

This is Larry LivingGood and today we find ourselves in a field in Israel. Unfortunately its very busy here. There is an army of Philistines to the left. In front of that army is a HUGE dude!! He is almost ten feet tall!! He has weapons!! He's challenging the best fighter of the other army to a fight and the winner will become king of the loser's army.

Just a second... This just in....The HUGE dude's name is Goliath. He's the best fighter the Philistines have. The other army here in Israel is, of course, the Israelites. None of their people want to fight Goliath. They are scared and from where I'm standing it looks like they should be. 

Wait a moment...There's a small boy stepping out of the Israelite army. He is saying that God will let him beat Goliath. The giant is laughing so hard he can barely stand up. The whole Philistine army is laughing with him. It doesn't look good for the Israelites. 

Word has just arrived that this young man is named David and that he is a shepherd boy on his father's farm. All he has with him is the sling that he uses to chase away lion's and coyotes with rocks. 

Here comes Goliath. He's got a spear that's as big as a tree and he's getting ready to throw it at David. Looks like this will be a short fight.

GOLIATH IS DOWN!!! I didn't see what happened. Yes...Yes, David put a rock in his sling and threw it at the Giant. It hit him right in the forehead and down he went! 

What a victory!  Israel wins. Well, it looks as if God will always do what he says and that He can use anybody if they let him. This has been Larry LivingGood reporting from Israel.  We now return you to your regularly scheduled rock concert.
