Freedom to His People Have you ever heard of a paradigm shift? Something happens to radically alter your viewpoint. You can no longer see things the way you did. Freedom discovered in God's love is just such a provocation. Sometimes it comes with a flood of tears and at others with a simple chuckle. It can happen almost anywhere at a time honored altar or in a soothing bath. The Lord is giving a new freedom to people who will only stop to look at things the way He intended. In a moment, God allows the veil to be pulled back to uncover His will for us, that being, He wants us to enjoy Him and be loved creatively by Him. Too many believers labor for months or even years under the oppressive burden earning God's approval, trying to please abusive leadership, or failing the expectations others have held for them. Once people discover just how much God loves them, even without doing another thing, you can see the weight lift off of their shoulders. I remember a prophecy spoken over me a few months ago by a powerful man of God. Along with various encouragements and insights, He said, "Remember, before you got the ministry, before you got a church, before you got everything else, you got Jesus!" If God be for you, who cares who is against you?! As great as God's freedom from religious systems or whatever, is, it is only the beginning of the journey. Life in the free lane does have a destination. Over and over again I am meeting people who are being released from damaging systems of religion and are finding a sense of joy not felt for a very long time. When these chains fall we can exercise our own free will to become disciples of Christ without the bands of pressure of others. God wants those who freely love Him without human rule books or fleshly demands. Things are changing in the Spirit, for the better. Men and women all over the world are finding new joy in Jesus. Some find this in church, but many are finding it away from the formal sanctuaries. It makes no difference where you find God. Just last week I met a young girl and her fiancée. They had been burned by people in church and no longer gather with those saints. Yet, they take long walks in the creation of God and find a fresh freedom to worship the Creator. No longer is it bound by the ritualism of their training. It has been surrendered to the overwhelming magnificence of our God. The whole earth is being filled with His glory.
