His Spoken Word

We live in amazing times.  It seems that on every hand we're seeing wonders performed.  There are magnificent medical breakthroughs almost every day.  Science is opening the doors to things impossible just a few years ago.  With small hand-held black boxes we can speak to people all over the world and think nothing of it.  Even this morning, for the first time I am using a new technology that astonishes me.

Right now I am writing this Garden Thought with the help of a new program on my computer that allows me to dictate to the computer while it writes out my spoken words.  I do not touch the keyboard. As I speak each word I say is typed onto the computer screen ready to be printed or edited. It is fascinating to me to see my words in action.  And, it is hard to believe what I see. A blank page is filled by what I say.  Where once there was nothing, now my thoughts are being seen just because I speak them.

While I was pondering this amazing new media approach, I began to think about God and his spoken Word.  Long before there was an earth, a moon, the sun, and the stars; long before the universe itself, filled with its black holes and wondrous arrangements of galaxies, there was God with nothing but a blank page, his thoughts, and his word.  With one word the worlds were made, the universe formed, the stars spread out by the span of his hand.  The full expression that encompasses the human experience was created by the thoughts of our savior as he spoke them into existence.

All he spoke appeared and became real.  The ground we walk on, the air we breathe, the food we eat is nothing more than the thought of God spoken into being.  Everything of this universe is made of God's word.  Therefore to discover God you only need to look at his word and his world to believe in him.  His word is truth, reality and full of substance.  When you  read his Bible you see his heart and thoughts.

If you have a page in your life that is empty and has no answers, our Lord is willing to share his thoughts with you.  He sends His word and heals them - us.  One word from God is all we need for our life to be complete.
